May is bursting out all over, and in Glossa we’re well into Spring with all that it brings. The wild flowers have been glorious since the first delicate pink of wild anemone, the wind flower, braved the chilly air back in February. Since then, the gallery of colours that accompanies your walk along the lanes and in the olive groves changes almost every day. The palette increases in variety and becomes more complex until if feels as though an orchestra of colour has burst into the countryside. It would be impossible to pick a favourite but for us, there’s something special about May because that’s when the orchids emerge. There are great swathes of pyramid orchids everywhere, and you can spot the more solitary and shy bee orchids and woodcock orchids if you keep an eagle eye out and you’re lucky as well!
